There are multiple email networks so please be sure to read the descriptions and join in on the appropriate ones. Never participated in an email discussion group before? Then you're in for a treat. Unlike bulletin boards which reside on websites, our email forums are off-site discussions which occur via email. Postings come right to your email inbox. You can choose either the individual postings format, which means postings are emailed to you one-by-one, or you may choose the digest version which is one daily email that is a compilation of the entire days’ postings.
The networks will not be monitored or censored and Allterra Consulting Group will not be liable for the words or actions of others.
The BuzzForum
This forum is intended for a general discussion on the topic of real estate appraisal .You will have an opportunity to participate in lively email conversations, network with other professionals, and submit requests or concerns you may have surrounding real estate valuation. Anyone may join- appraisers, consumers, lenders, vendors. This is the” water cooler” forum. No topic is off limits. Feel like blasting the latest Buzz article? Go for it. Do you detest AVMs- vent here. Tired of lender pressure- get it off your chest. It’s cheaper than a therapist.

Collateral Risk Network
The CRN is a private email forum for lenders only. The purpose is for chief appraisers and senior collateral risk managers to act as counsel to each other, share experiences, and assist each other in solving mutual problems. If you are a lender and wish to join please email jtrice@appraisalbuzz.com. The CRN meets twice a year in person at the Valuation Expos, www.valuationexpo.com. Membership currently numbers 72. This group has made it known that they are all business. If you wish to chit chat, take it to the Buzz Forum.
Appraisal Management Network
The AMC Network is a private email forum for appraisal management companies. It acts as a parallel universe to the CRN. The CRN and the AMC Network meet with each other at Valuation Expos and share some sessions together.
Suggestions for Participation:
If you belong to multiple email networks set up a folder in Outlook titled for each group. Set a “rule” that will move discussion group emails to the appropriate folder. Then if volume is heavy for any given day, you may attack a given folder later in the day, and not have the traffic interfere with business.
Please respect others’ opinions.
Never post anonymously. If you haven’t already, set up a signature in Outlook that automatically attaches to each email you send. It is much more professional.
Be careful about sending large attachments to a forum. Not everyone is on a high speed connection.
Turn off any “return receipts”.
Don’t subscribe to the forums with an address that sends “out of office” notices to the entire group. We will do what we can to filter these messages.
