3 Benefits of Using Drone Technology in Real Estate Appraisal

Drone technology allows for enhanced observations of real estate by capturing pictures and videos from many different heights and angles. In 2017, real estate was the number one industry taking advantage of drone photography and videography. At first, drone technology was mainly used as a way of showcasing properties listed for sale, but its uses have since expanded into other areas of real estate, including appraisal.

Here are three reasons why real estate professionals can benefit from using aerial drone technology:

1. Real-time inspection

A drone provides a real-time inspection when compared to Google Earth and Bing Maps, which are typically not up to date. This is especially beneficial in neighborhoods undergoing transformation or revitalization.

2. High definition photography

High definition aerial photographs are being used to develop baseline assessments of the quality and condition of properties. This is extremely useful in insurance claims and tax assessments.

3. Enhanced work safety

Finally, drones aid in providing a safe working environment. Not only do they give access to hard-to-reach places, but they can also save time and make the inspection more efficient.

Drone technology is already making an impact in the real estate industry. Whether you plan on flying or not, knowing about the uses and benefits of drones can help you become a valuable resource to a number of real estate professions.

In real estate, clients pay you for the data that you are able to obtain. Drones give you the ability to gather data that was previously unobtainable—and that is value.
