Average Rate For 30-Year Mortgage Continues to Hold at Under 3 Percent

Mortgage rates fell for a third straight week, with the average rate for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage dipping to 2.94%, down from 2.96% last week, according to Freddie Mac’s Primary Mortgage Market Survey (PMMS).

A year ago at this time, the 30-year averaged 3.28%.

“Since the most recent peak in April, mortgage rates have declined nearly a quarter of a percent and have remained under three percent for the past month,” says Sam Khater,
