Buzz: Can we please have your background in the appraisal and real estate industry?
Marty: I am a third-generation appraiser. I started working for my dad when I was right out of high school and worked for him for 10 years. My father has been an appraiser since the 1970s and started at the company my Grandfather started. My father is an awesome appraiser, a fantastic teacher and mentor, and I have to give him a ton of credit for where I am today. I have done thousands of appraisals, including everything from every type of residential to complex commercial and industrial assignments. Plus, I have been a general contractor on several houses I built and sold, with the first being when I was 19 (I’m 33 now). Real estate has been in my blood from day one.
Buzz: Can you elaborate on the company of Anow and why appraisers should work with them?
Marty: We are one of the few companies where appraisers are our only customers. We love appraisers and take care of them first, because I am an appraiser. Every time we create new features, they are there to help the appraiser. Too many other software solutions in our industry are built for lenders and AMCs. The force appraisers to use them rather than give appraisers tools that make their lives easier, save money, and drive more business for individual appraisal companies to the largest in the country. That’s what we do.
