The Future of the Appraisal Profession

Joan Trice
Joan Trice, Founder and CEO of Clearbox, LLC

Being plugged into the appraisal profession means a lot of different things to a lot of people. Some appraisers believe all appraisers think alike. If that were true, they would be unified in one organization. That fragmentation of the industry is indeed a weakness that makes it a vulnerable profession.

It is an odd dichotomy. Appraisers are a fiercely independent bunch (and that is a good thing), but when it comes to unifying the profession, it makes it difficult.

I’d really like to hear, directly from you, exactly how you “feel” about the profession and the future of the profession. I know you are a little tired of the rhetoric of “appraising will change and you are just going to love it.” That’s why we are asking. Take the load off and tell us what you think.

Please take this brief survey by February 14th. We will share the results when collated.
