DETROIT – TSI Appraisal, a division of Title Source®, the nation’s largest independent provider of title insurance, property valuations and settlement services, today announced that Jordan Petkovski, TSI Appraisal’s Chief Appraiser, Chairman of the National Appraisal Congress (NAC) and a co-chair of the Collateral Risk Network (CRN) Education Committee will address appraisal education reform on a panel with other valuation experts at the upcoming CRN Education Committee meeting.

“The goal of the Education Committee is to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the field applications for the next generation of appraisers. We aim to develop more practical models and teachings, then connect them to what’s happening in the field,” said Petkovski. “We’re creating the appraisers of the next generation and the CRN Education Committee is the starting point to identify challenges and develop an action plan, because this will be a big year in the appraisal industry.”

The issues that will be discussed during the CRN Education Committee include how to further the education of the appraisal industry, and the evolution of educational solutions that will advance an appraiser’s career. Education is just one of six committees developed by the CRN to address a wide range of issues in the valuation industry. The others include Government Affairs, Data & Technology, Best Practices, Industry Relations and Emerging Issues. Petkovski will be joined by the Chair of the Education Committee, Bill Waltenbaugh, Axis Appraisal Management and committee members, Tom Schurer, Real Valuation Services; Julie Friess, Appraisal Learning Center, LLC; Jeremy McCarty, Valligent; Bryan Caffrey, Arivs; Bill King, Platinum Data; Sam Glusica, U.S. Bank and Lora Helt, Bradford Technologies.

Petkovski has worked in the residential appraisal industry holding various senior positions for more than 15 years. He is a nationally recognized author and subject matter expert with respect to residential appraisal practices.

The CRN educational workgroup, a quarterly members-only event, will be held on Tuesday, January 27, from 1 – 5 p.m. EST. Petkovski will be part of the “Education” session from 1 – 2:45 p.m. The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six, 2301 SE 17th Street Causeway in Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33316.
